Hey all! Long time, no see! And yes, I still fail so hardcore that I haven't gotten those drawings done. In fact, I can't remember the last time I drew... And yet I've just recently created an art blog? I'm a class act.
So a few things! First is my con schedule for this year. I've finally solidified things.
Anime Boston- Steiner (FFIX)
Boston Comic Con (Sunday)- Tintin (Tintin Movie)
Connecticon- Mycroft Holmes (BBC Sherlock), Tintin
It's going to be a big cosplay year for me, because I suspect it's one of my last. That ties into the news I have below. But yes, I might also try to debut Judeau (Berserk) and Bolin (Legend of Korra). I'll see how things go, because I'm currently pulling out my hair over Steiner.
But as for the other news: I FINALLY GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL. Two to be precise. This September I'll be attending either University of Chicago or King's College London. I'll definitely be going away, but it's where that has to be figured out. I suspect that will mean changing a number of things in my life. Not that I draw much anymore, but it might be even less this next year. I also won't have time for cosplay, but I'll probably be doing more photography.
Ya. That's it. Wow that was self-serving.

The More You Know-- Free Met Books
Just interrupting my regularly scheduled period of absence to bring this to folk's attention: the Metropolitan Museum in NYC has generously offered many of their out of print publications online, in PDF format or to be read on the website, for FREE. Yes, fellow denizens of the internet, FREE. I urge everyone to take this opportunity and use it to the fullest. I myself have downloaded a number of books on period fashion, Belle Époque art, and medieval art--all things I think will be valuable art resources.
Without further ado, here's the link:

New Record of Deadtime
Seriously, I just set a new personal best for "deadtime"--time I've been away from dA for so long that it looks like I died. It's been almost three months since I last got on and checked everything out. Holy crap. Well, I guess time flies when you're... doing something.
So it looks like the last time I did anything on this page was right after Anime North. A lot of shit has happened since, so I'll try and keep it brief.
First, I signed up with a medical weight loss clinic almost immediately after Anime North. I was just too terrified by the pictures of myself, and troubled that some of my costumes and binders no longer fit. I was 184 lbs wh
Anime North 2012 Recap and Review
This weekend I went up with a lovely group of friends to have a go at Anime North. I've never been to conventions outside of the States, so I was expecting an interesting experience. Anime North delivered on that promise.
My journey started at 7am on Thursday; I drove down to meet my friends in Connecticut and then continue on north. After what can only be described as a comedy of errors (missed alarms, getting locked out of houses, forgetting costume pieces, and neglecting to bring the surprise graduation cake made for one of our party), we finally departed southern Connecticut at 4:30pm--for a 7ish hour drive. The drive was hysterical. Lot

I happened upon your page and saw that you were going to be attending the Boston Comic Con. this year! That's awesome! I'm going to be there at a table myself in Artists' Alley. I definitely will be interested in seeing your TinTin cosplay! Hopefully I'll run into you (Not often people go as TinTin).
